Where we went over budget and July's challenge result

We went out for frozen yogurt as a surprise for the kids today, using an unknown value gift card we've had for a while.  It didn't have as much on it as I thought it would, and the frozen yogurt turned out to be more expensive than I anticipated, so we did go over a bit on our entertainment/ eating out budget.
On another line, we went over on household because my husband has been dying to watch the Olympics, but we couldn't find the remote for the converter box we have for our ancient TV.  We decided maybe that was a sign that we should finally upgrade to a newer TV (it's been over 10 years since we've done that), so we spent the last of our household improvement budget for that, and went over what we had by about $15.
Next paycheck will be make-up time for both of these, which makes me unhappy because that means less money going towards our debt payoff.  A budget isn't perfect, and I know that, but I still get annoyed when we spend more than we planned on any given category.
We didn't do so well at our water saving challenge this month either- we spent $1.07 more than average.  Not too bad, but not awesome either.
