Where we went over budget
Wow, our water bill was awful this month. The town changed how they charge, and it's really hurting us. It used to be that they charged a base rate for 2,000 gallons, and every gallon you went over that, you would pay per gallon. Now the amount has been lowered to 1,000 gallons of usage. As a family of six, we use a lot of water, so now we have to pay a lot more for it. Plus, we've been having the kids help out with dishes and laundry more, and they are not as efficient as we are, obviously. I guess it's the price we pay for teaching children responsibilities. As they gain experience, they'll get more efficient, I hope.

Where we went over budget
Well, so far so good on our monthly challenge, since we had to sideline one of our vehicles! Unfortunately, that also came with corresponding repair bills, although it didn't turn out to be too much, especially considering what a horrendous racket the van was making. I was sure something was mortally wrong with it.
