True confession: we went out to eat this last week when we shouldn't have. I'd been cooking all weekend to get ready for our on-the-cheap vacation so that we wouldn't have to eat sandwiches and cereal all week long, and I was tired of cooking, so we went out for dinner. I guess it was cheaper than it would have been if we'd gone out to eat all of our vacation instead of me cooking a ton at once.
Overall, we stayed on track for what we had to spend on our vacation. We ended up spending a little less in some ways (the hotel had a free shuttle which saved us on parking fees downtown), and more in others (we left the sunscreen at the hotel and ended up buying some overpriced stuff by the beach), but on the whole, we stayed under budget.
